Mike Lynes is the Director of Public Policy in California for Audubon California, the state office of the National Audubon Society. Mike started his career as a wildlife biologist with Point Blue Conservation Science, then attended law school to focus on environmental law and policy in 2000. As an attorney, Mike represented nonprofit groups in environmental enforcement cases before joining the Golden Gate Audubon Society (now the Golden Gate Bird Alliance) as its Conservation Director in 2008. At GGBA, Mike also serve as in-house counsel and eventually as its Executive Director. In 2014, Mike joined Audubon California where he focuses on state and federal legislation and policies that affect birds and their habitats. He lives in Davis with his wife Justine, his sons Charlie and Jack, and their dog Opal.
