Prescribed Fire Squad Lead Annie Madden is a land steward, fire practitioner, and teacher who grew up outside of Kansas City, Missouri. In 2012 she moved to Sonoma County to complete her associate degrees in forest and watershed management, natural sciences, and parks and recreation management from Santa Rosa Junior College. Annie’s professional experience includes working with conservation organizations and agencies throughout Sonoma County. Over the past decade, she has built an extensive skillset in animal care, outdoor recreation management, ecosystem stewardship, prescribed fire, and environmental education. Annie has played a key role in the leadership and development of the Santa Rosa Junior College’s Wildfire Resilience Program and has 5+ years of experience supervising and training with her community. She is excited to be a part of the Fire Forward team and the broader prescribed fire community!
