August, 2021: Due to the public health risks of Covid-19, the preserves are closed until further notice; however, we have a range of online activities available, detailed in the calendar.

Promoting a conservation ethic in people of all ages is central to our mission. Please join us on the preserves to explore seasonal changes, take part in naturalist training or dig in with other volunteers to assist our land management team. Reservations are required for most events in order to ensure that human impact is kept in balance with land and habitat preservation goals.

SOLD OUT! Celebrate M.F.K. Fisher and Film at Foreign Cinema Restaurant in SF

Oct 29 2021 - 3:00pm to 6:00pm
Foreign Cinema Restaurant in San Francisco

9/16/21 Update: this event is currently sold out. Thank you for your interest and support!

Join friends and film lovers for a magical afternoon at San Francisco's famed Foreign Cinema to benefit the restoration, repair, and maintenance of M.F.K. Fisher's Last House and the completion of filmmaker Gregory Bezat's latest project, The Art of Eating.

Mouth-watering small bites provided by Foreign Cinema will be accompanied by M.F.K. Fisher's signature cocktail and the yummy unpretentious wines of Wine Snob* winery in Glen Ellen.

Indulge while you listen to a panel moderated by Clark Wolf discussing Fisher's life, her work, her contribution to contemporary food ideas, and why her unique lens on life remains so relevant today.

Our panel for this thought-provoking afternoon includes people who knew Fisher and who are featured in the film:

  • Gregory Bezat, filmmaker
  • Kennedy Golden, Educator, M.F.K. Fisher's daughter
  • Jerry DiVecchio, Food and Wine Writer
  • John Ash, Chef

All ticket holders will receive a copy of the beautiful Foreign Cinema cookbook autographed by the chefs/owners Gayle Pirie and John Clark.
